Son of Clark Pittman and his 2nd wife, Elizabeth "Bettie" Harden. The mother died in Brown Co. about 1888. Francis Pittman married Rhoda Carter April 22, 1916, in Brown Co., Indiana.

Francis Marion Pittman, 71, 926 Pearl street, died at 11:45 o'clock at the county hospital. He had been ill for several years and was taken to the hospital Sunday.

He was born in Brown county and lived most of his life there. He had lived in Columbus for 10 years.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Rhoda Pittman; his step-mother, Mrs. Mattie Pittman, Nashville; four daughters, Mrs. Charles Mitchner, Mrs. Jack Dutro, and Mrs. Robert Heitz, all of Columbus, and Mrs. Earl Melvin, of Illinois; 10 grandchildren ; three brothers, Otis Pittman of Illinois, Abbey Pittman of Hope, and Raymond Pittman of Nashville; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Moore, Miss Lillie Pittman and Mrs. Edel Hoover, all of Columbus. A son, Gene Pittman, died two weeks ago.

Funeral rites will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Flanigan and Reed funeral home. Burial will be at Daugherty cemetery. The casket will be open at the funeral home this evening until time for services.
