Obit: Vera Mae Ploughe King, 85, Morgantown, died at 8:25 a.m. May 15, 2002, in Kindred Hospital, Greenwood, after an extended illness.

Mrs. King was a 1934 Sugar Creek High school graduate. She had worked for W.H. Block Co., Indianapolis, and managed the Dairy Queen in Monticello, from which she retired. She moved from Frankfort to Morgantown in 1971. She was a member of the Morgantown United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star of Morgantown, Magna Carta DAmes and DAR Ten O'clock Line Chapter of Martinsville.

Mrs. King was born September 30, 1916, in Clinton County, Indiana to Preston Asa and Bessie Mae Douglas Ploughe. She married Kenneth E. King on December 26, 1935, and he survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Donna Kay King of Morgantown and Rosella A. Seay of Indianapolis; four brothers, Preston Wayne (Mary Ellen) Ploughe of Scircleville, James Norman (Evelyn) Ploughe of Kirklin, Joseph Ploughe of Lafayette, and Dale McKinney (Arlene) Ploughe of rural Frankfort; four sisters, Mabel Sotzing of Greenwood, Mary Dell (Eugene) Walker of Sheridan, Norma J. Macis of Buena Park, California, and Dortha Thompson of Brookston; and two grandchildren, Kenneth Seay and Keith Seay.

One son, Larry Joe King, preceded her in death July 13, 1991.
