Floyd Cornell, 60, died in his Lafayette home Wednesday morning [May 19, 1982]. Born in Lauramie Township, near Stockwell, he was educated in Stockwell schools. In 1973, he was married to Audrey Pullen Brooker, who died in May 1981.
Mr. Cornell had lived for a time at Doc's Corner in Tippecanoe County and also at Monroe. He retired four years ago as a carpenter for Jim Sparks Construction Co. Prior to his employment there, he worked at Brown Rubber Co. for five years. He was a member of Stockwell United Methodist Church, and a life member of VFW Post 1154. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra (Mrs. Marvin) Kyle of Romney and Ingrid (Mrs. Ron) Wein of Lafayette; a stepson, Jack Brooker of Lafayette; two sisters, Mrs. Leona Osborn and Helen Cornell, both of Lafayette; one brother, Cecil Cornell of Stockwell; five grandchildren and one step-grandchild.
