John Kennington an old time resident of Afton passed away in Washington on June 12. He was buried in Vancouver Wash on June 18.
John will be remembered by many of the older residents of the valley. He was a brother to Henry Albert and A.R. Kennington who will live in the valley. He also has a brother, Ira living in Preston, Idaho.
His father Wm. H. Kennington was among the earliest settlers in Afton and he homesteaded the land now comprising the south part of Afton. The family came to Afton and settled about 1884 or 1885.
