Marvelle was born February 19, 1925, in Scotland County, MO, a daughter of Paul and Elsie (Green) Kutzner.
She married Roy Jr. Adams on April 4, 1943, at Kahoka, MO, and to this union seven children were born.
Marvelle attended grade school at Oakridge, and Memphis High School. She enjoyed working in the garden, sewing, and doing crafts. She loved planting and growing flowers. She enjoyed most of all raising and taking care of her children.
She is survived by her husband, Junior of Memphis, MO; two sons, Roy Paul Adams of Memphis, MO, Richard Lee Adams and his wife, Sue of Kirksville, MO; four daughters, Barbara Pender and husband, Larry of Burlington, IA, June Gould and husband, Ed of Rockford, IL; Mary Alice Rasmussen and husband, Bill of Mount Home, AR, Betty Sue Lodewegen and husband, Warren of Memphis, MO; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Eldon and Ronald Keith Kutzner, both of Keokuk, IA; four sisters, Ilene Mathes of Albuquerque, NM, Marianna Lee of Williamsburg, VA, Roberta Fogle of Jefferson City, MO, Patricia Baker of California, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins; and special friends, Bette Wiley and Marlene Henry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Earl; three brothers, Walter, Robert and George Kutzner and three grandsons in infancy.
The family has suggested memorials to the American Diabetes Association.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Pastor James L. Campbell officiating. Musicians will be Angela Westhoff, soloist, and Ann Luther, organist. Body bearers will be Kevin Pender, Michael Lodewegen, Kenneth Pender, Allan Adams, Timothy Votaw, and Charlie Dighton. Honorary bearers will be Robert Rasmussen and Allen Adams. Interment will be in the Memphis Cemetery, Memphis, MO. Payne Funeral Chapel of Memphis, MO is in charge of services.
