She was raised around Memphis, Missouri and attended the Scotland County school system. She married Orin Onken December 24, 1954 and to this union five children were born: Ray, Oleva, Mary, Carla and Paula Erin. She resided in Memphis until 1985 when she moved to Jefferson City, Missouri. Then in 1987 she married Paul Fogle and spent the rest of her life with him, living at Jefferson City, Missouri. They would have celebrated their 25th anniversary this year.
Roberta worked in different vocations including the Garment Factory and Dean's Liquor in Memphis. When she moved to Jefferson City, she worked for the Department of Revenue in the Truman Building in Jefferson City, Missouri.
She liked the simple life of tending to her garden and flowers, both inside and out. She liked to cook and in her spare time she would spend time reading all kinds of books. She always enjoyed traveling to spend time with all her family when she could.
Preceding her in death were her parents, four brothers; Walter, Robert, George and Keith, two sisters; Ilene Mathes and Marvelle Adams and a great-grandson, Andrew Kice.
Those surviving include her husband, Paul Fogle of Jefferson City, Missouri, five children, Ray Onken of Camdenton, Missouri, Oleva Frederick and her husband, David, of Memphis, Missouri, Mary Elaine Stone and her partner, Randall Atkins, of Phoenix, Arizona, Carla Onken of Albany, Missouri and Paula Erin McLain of St. Louis, Missouri; step-daughter, Wanda Gerling and her husband, Mike, of Jefferson City, MO; grandchildren, Michael Posthumas, Damian Onken and Travis Onken, Tisha Kice-Briggs, Tonya Kice, Jeff Kice, Paula Atkins, Michael Atkins, Morgan and Allyson McLain; step-granddaughters, Shelly Klatt and Sheila Brenneke, Brandi Gerling and Bridgette Berelanck; several great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, two sisters, Patty Baker of Ojai, CA and Marianna Lee of Williamsburg, VA; one brother, Eldon Kutzner, of Toano, VA, brothers-in-law, Don Fogle and his wife Dora of Memphis, Missouri and Troy Fogle of Quasqueton, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Betty Amber of Salina, Kansas and Bonnie Forquer of Memphis, Missouri, along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
As per her wishes she was cremated and there will be a private inurnment at a later time in the Memphis Cemetery.
