Walter Kutzner

Henry Walter Kutzner, son of Elsie Mae Green and Paul Nagel Kutzner, was born March 10, 1926, in Stronghurst, Illinois. Walter lived most of his life in Scotland County.

He departed this life on February 5, 1981, at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, at the age of 54 years, 11 months, and 5 days.


On March 3, 1951, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Barrickman, and to this union four children were born, Teresa Jenkins of Keokuk, Iowa, Walter Max, Mark Kutzner ant home and Ronda Maxine.

Walter was a Veteran of World War II, a former Jaycee, a member of the Carpenter's Union and former Flagman and Member of the Fairboard.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, daughter, Teresa and her husband, Stanley Jenkins; son Mark, one granddaughter, Pam, whom he dearly loved; mother-in-law, Neva Henderson; five sisters, Mrs. Marvelle Adams, Mrs. Ilene Mathes, Mrs. Marianna Marrs, Roberta Onken, and Patty Jackson; two brothers, Paul Eldon Kutzner and Ronald Keith Kutzner; a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, his father-in-law, Elmer Barrickman, two children, Walter Max and Ronda Maxine, 1 granddaughter Heather Jenkins, two brothers, Robert and George Kutzner, and a host of other relatives.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 9, 1981, at the Payne-Gerth Funeral Home, Memphis, Missouri, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Kenneth Campbell and Rev. Tom Cole officiated. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery, Memphis, Missouri. Body bearers were Ronnie Kutzner, Richard Adams, Roy P. Adams, Ronnie Kice, Chris Kutzner, and Farley Kutzner.
