Born 17 Aug 1932 in Ging, Rush Co., IN., he was the son Everett and Edith (Winkler) Lee. He was the seventh of nine children, having four sisters and four brothers. He attended Ging, Jackson and Rushville schools. He graduated from Rushville High School in 1951, where he participated in football, basketball and track for all four years. He met Doris Graham his freshman year and knew she was the one for him. He married Doris Graham, in Rushville, at the Main Street Christian Church, on the 2nd of June 1951. They had five children; Pamela, Robert, Richard, Roger and JoElla. He worked various jobs in his lifetime. Starting with Perfect Circle, he was a Semi Driver and he retired from Falmouth Farm Supply. He moved his family to Southern California in 1961 and moved back to Indiana in 1965 after the death of his mother in 1964. He was a spiritual person. A member of Fairview Christian Church since 1966 he attended church regularly. He was, at one time, a Deacon, Elder, Song leader, Bible School Teacher, Sunday School Teacher and in other words, he was very active in church. He would buy an All-Sports Season ticket every year and attend most high school sporting events. Lady Lions Basketball was his favorite and he was a Big fan. He enjoyed watching College basketball and Pro Football on Television. Rarely, did he miss a 3/4 Midget Race at the fairgrounds. Being a huge Civil War buff, visiting many of the battlefields and talking of his great grandfather that was killed in the war was a topic he enjoyed. He was a genealogist and spent lots of time in libraries, court houses and walking cemeteries. Dad was a very out going person, loved to tease the children, liked going places and doing things. A very thoughtful, fun loving man. Dad passed away five weeks after being diagnosed with cancer. He is laid to rest beside his loving wife and my wonderful mother in East Hill Cemetery, Rushville, IN.
