Hugh Allison Claimed At 71

Hugh C. Allison, of Canal Fulton, a native of Beaver County and a retired well - driller, died Tuesday evening at the Orrville Osteopathic Hospital following a long illness. He lived in Canal Fulton 34 years. A member of the Methodist Church there, he also belonged to Ebenezer Masonic Lodge 33 of Wooster and the Scottish Rite and Grotto, both of Canton. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Myra Allison, at home; five sisters, Mrs. Pearl Abrams and Mrs. Ellen Bartley, both of Chester, Mrs. Jennie Mackall and Miss Maude Allison, both of East Liverpool, and Mrs. Esther Shaffer of New Brighton, and two brothers, Thompson Allison of East Liverpool and Clayton Allison of Gary, Ind. Services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at the Swigart Funeral Home in Canal Fulton by the Rev. Richard Plants. Additional services will be conducted at the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery in Hookstown Friday at 4 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Elliott Masonic Lodge 180 of Canal Fulton will conduct services Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
