Margaret E. Bartley, 97
Chester -- Margaret Ellen Bartley, 97, of Carolina Avenue died at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 1994, at home following a lengthy illness. She was born in Hookstown April 26, 1897, a daughter of the late John and Ella Laughlin Allison. She lived her life in the Tri-State Area and attended the Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was a member and past president of the Auxiliary to American Legion Post 374. Her husband, E.C. "Sparky" Bartley, died May 6, 1959. She also was preceded in death by two sons, George Bartley and Harry Bartley. She is survived by three daughters, Eileen Walker, with whom she lived, Bartine Pike of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Betty Varner of Warren; a son, Lewis Oliver Bartley of Zionsville, Ind.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The Rev. Katrina Lewis of the church will conduct the services at 11 a.m. Monday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
