George A. Allison

George A. Allison died suddenly of a heart attack today at 2 a.m. in his home, 851 Phoenix Ave., Chester. He was 74. A former potter, Mr. Allison had been janitor at the Grandview School near Chester. He was a member of the National Brotherhood of Operative Potters. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Mary Allison; five sons, John T. Allison, Frank Allison, and Hugh Allison of Chester, Harry Allison of Wellsville and Dale Allison of Cambridge; four daughters, Mrs. Ola Weaver and Mrs. Beulah Barmer of Chester, Mrs. Etta Brooks of East Liverpool, and Mrs. Mildred White of Newell; two brothers, R. A. Allison of Chester, and J. L. Allison of Hookstown; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Campbell and Mrs. Margaret Laughlin of East Liverpool and Mrs. Tillie Campbell of Chester; four step-children, W.E. Board and R.C. Bruce of Youngstown, Mrs. John Melvin of East Liverpool, and Libert F. Board of Laughlin's Corners, and 18 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the home by Rev. C. L. Dotson, pastor of the Chester Free Methodist Church. Burial will be in Mill Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the late home.

NOTE: George was first married to Alice Melissa Boyd, on 07 Nov 1894. Alice died 28 Oct 1942. George remarried to Mary Catherine Williams - Board, on 01 Apr 1943.

NOTE: George was a veterinarian.
