Obituary: The Iberia Sentinel, May 30, 1940

Mrs. Camilla Patterson was born November 5, 1860, at Tuscumbia and died May 21, 1940 at the home of her son near Ulman, being at the time of her death 79 years, 6 months and 16 days old. She was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. A.P. Nixdorf Sr.

She was the oldest daughter and second child of a family of
fourteen children, seven boys and seven girls, six of whom survive her; two sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Minnie Kallenbach, Bismark, Paul, Carrol, Mrs. Addie Burks and Victor.

She was united in marriage to William Patterson in the year of 1877. To this union ten children were born, nine of whom are living. One son, Joe, died September 25, 1916 at the age of 23.

Those living are Perry, Fred, Rig, Mrs. Asa Myers, Mrs. Bee
Dawson, Jim, Will, Mrs. Carroll Brumley and Mrs. John Groff. She is also survived by 38 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Many years ago she united with the Methodist Church of Ulman and remained steadfast in a wonderful Christian faith. At the age of 57 she was crippled through a fall which was a handicap, but she maintained a patient and loveable personality that won for her many friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bolen of Iberia at the Ulman Christian Church Wednesday, May 23rd at 2 p.m. Burial was made in the Jackson Cemetery under direction of the Adams & Casey service of Iberia.
