Mrs. Belle Dawson, 78, mother of Supt. James Dawson of Owensville, died at Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City on Monday, October 31, 1966. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Ulman Baptist Church near Ulman, with the Rev. Kenneth Gray officiating. Interment was made in the Gott Cemetery.

Mrs. Dawson was born on Aug. 25, 1888, near Ulman, the daughter of the late William and Camilla Noxdorf Patterson. She was married June 21, 1914, to Bee Dawson, who preceded her in death in 1937.

Surviving her are two sons, James Dawson of Owensville and Gene Dawson of Sikeston; Naomi Spalding of Henley, Barbara Norfleet of Raytown, and Dorothy Henley of Ulman; three sisters, Carrie Meyers of Ulman, Junia Groff of Waldenburg, Ark., and Gertrude Brumley of Ceres, Calif.; and two brothers, Fred and James Patterson, both of Ulman.

Mrs. Dawson became a member of the Ulman Baptist Church early in life. She was a former member of the Ulman WPFA and a former school teacher.
