Services for Birdie Louise Hamilton Knight, 80, of Troup are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday Oct. 26, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, Troup, with the Revs. Mike Cline, Al Dusek and Tommie Earl Burton officiating. Burial will be in Bradford Cemetery, Troup, under direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

She was called to the loving arms of God, Monday, Oct. 22, 2012. She was born Feb. 12, 1932, in the Concord community, near Troup to the late Looney Oliver Hamilton and Ethel Odell Jackson Hamilton.

Mrs. Knight was a loving and devoted mother who will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was a homemaker and also had worked as a cashier for the Troup Elementary School cafeteria. She attended the First United Methodist Church, Troup.

She married Eugene D. 'PawPaw Gene' Knight, Jan. 26, 1951, in Troup. He preceded her in death Sept. 10, 2011, following 60 years of marriage.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Russell, Earl, James, Frank, Dan and Glenn Hamilton and sisters, Inez Martin, Earlene Hamilton and Rosie Odell Nesbitt.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ricky Gene Knight and Jerry and Debbie Knight, all of Troup; a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Tim Young of Troup; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Gladys Hamilton of Troup; a sister, Lucille Johnson of Mineola; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Jason Daniel and Beverly Knight, Misty Lynn Knight, Andrea Dawn Brown, Jennifer Knight Walston, Adam and Terrell Knight, Allie Young and Travis Young;14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Adam Knight, Jason Knight, Justin Mallory, Travis Young, Jad Dusek and Curtis Johnson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25.
