Services for Rosie Odell Hamilton Nesbitt, 79, Lindale, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the Cottle Funeral Home chapel, Troup, with the Rev. Robert Davenport officiating. Burial will be in the Pinecrest Cemetery, Troup.
Mrs. Nesbitt left the loving arms of her family and best friend (since third grade) to the outstretched arms of Jesus. She was born July 5, 1930, in the Concord community, near Troup, to the late Looney Oliver Hamilton and Ethel Odell Jackson Hamilton.
She was the retired co-owner of Scents of the South Candles, Whitehouse. She enjoyed cooking and candle making. She was a member of the Mount Sylvan Baptist Church.
A former resident of Troup and Tyler, she had been a resident of Lindale since 2003.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Russell, Earl, James, Frank, Dan and Glenn Hamilton; and sisters, Inez Martin and Earlene Hamilton.
She married Glenn Nesbitt, in Arp, Nov. 8, 1946.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Glenn Nesbitt, Lindale; a son and daughter-in-law; a daughter; two grandsons and a granddaughter-in-law; three great-granddaughters; a brother and sister-in-law; two sisters and a brother-in-law; best friends, and their daughter; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ron Bartlett, Jerry Knight, Ricky Knight, Tony Rand, Richard Songy and Len Speiser.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ira Groom and Richard Wilson.
If desired, memorials may be made to the church of your choice.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15.
