LAWRENCE W. HALL, 49, DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS - A lifelong New Haven resident, Lawrence William Hall, 49, of Main Street, New Haven, died at 4 A.M. Saturday, May 21 at Veterans Administration Hospital, Louisville, after a long illness. A veteran of World War II, he was a 25 year employee of Ugite Gas Company, New Haven, and only recently received the "Outstanding Achievement Award for the Winter of '77." He was a member of St. Catherine Church, New Haven. Surviving are his wife, former Frances Helen Mattingly; a daughter, Miss Renee Hall, at home; four sons, Kevin and Alan Hall, at home; Steven Hall, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, and Michael Hall, of Bardstown; six sisters, Mrs. Joan Hornback, Route 3, Bardstown; Mrs. Joyce Greenwell, Bardstown; Mrs. Betty Cecil, New Haven; Mrs. Regina Stewart, of Louisville; Mrs. Teresa Browning, Fern Creek, and Miss Martha Hall, of New Haven; five brothers, Raphael, Marvin, David and Larry Hall, all of New Haven, and Louis Hall, of Bardstown; his father, Alvah G. Hall, of New Haven, and a grandchild. A concelebrated Requiem Mass was offered at 10 A.M. Tuesday, May 24, at St. Catherine Church, with Rev. John Caldwell, associate pastor, chief celebrant. Concelebrants were the Rev. Kenny Williams, of Nazareth, and the Rev. Paul M. Russell, pastor. Burial was in the church cemetery. Casketbearers were Leo Spalding, Billy Holbert, Edward Downs, Joe Eddie Mouser, Leroy Cecil and Logue Bryan. Honorary bearers were fellow Ugite employees Harold Payne, Jack Mumford, Bill Van Meter, William Hall, Howard Keesey, C. G. Keesey, J. A. Boone, Lum Gant, Bernard Henderson, Clint Eckley, Ronnie Gowen, Mark Carter, Henry Hogue, Ernie Pearson and Homer Simpson. The body was at the Joseph L. Greenwell funeral Home, where a wake service was held at 8 P.M. Monday. Buried, 5-24-1977, in St. Catherine Cemetery, New Haven, Ky.
