Louis Gregory Hall, 81, Bardstown, formerly of New Haven, died Thursday, June 23, 2011, with his family by his side at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He grew up in New Haven and was a member of St. Catharine of Alexandria Church and a graduate of St. Catharine Elementary School. He served as a staff Sargeant in the Army during the Korean Conflict, 1948-1951. He retired from the Bardstown Sewing Factory, and worked at the L&N Shop in Louisville and Boston Beverage for several years. He was born Nov. 9, 1929 to the late Alvah Gregory and Estelle Lee Seward Hall. He is preceded in death by five brothers, Andrew Hall, Lawrence Hall, Raphael Hall, Marvin Hall and David Hall; five sisters, Pauline Clark, JoAnne Hornback, Martha Hall, Regina Stewart and Betty Jane Cecil; and a granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Allender. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy Cecil Hall; three sons, Ron (Carolyn) Hall of Lexington, and Jim (Tammy) Hall and and Richard Hall, both of Bardstown; three daughters, Judy (Randy) Allendar, Janice Hall and Jennifer Parrish, all of Bardstown; two sisters, Theresa Browning of Louisville and Joyce (Happy) Greenwell of Bardstown; a brother, Larry (Phyllis) Hall of New Haven; 17 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 A.M. Monday, June 27, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Bill Hammer officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation is 3-8 P.M. Sunday, June 26, 2011, and Monday, 9-10:30 A.M. at the Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown. A prayers service will be 6 P.M. Sunday with Deacon John Hamilton officiating. The family respectfully requests that expressions of sympathy be donations to the St. Joseph Building Fund, the American Heart Association and the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth.

He was a member of Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral in Bardstown and as a young man grew up in the parish St. Catherine Church and graduate of St. Catherine High School. He was a staff sergeant in the army serving in the Korean Conflict 1948 - 1951. He was retired from the Bardstown Sewing Factory, worked at L&N Shop in Louisville for several years, also worked at the Boston Beverage for several years. He was born November 9, 1929. The son of the late Alvah Gregory & Estelle Lee Seward Hall. Also preceded in death by 1 granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Allender; five brothers, Andrew Hall, Lawrence Hall, Raphael Hall, Marvin Hall and David Hall; five sisters, Pauline Clark, JoAnne Hornback, Martha Hall, Regina Stewart and Betty Jane Cecil.
