COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY - 11/26/2006
HORNBACK - Joan Hall, 90, of Bardstown, formerly of New Haven, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Windsor Gardens Nursing Home in Bardstown. She worked for the Old Bardstown Transfer Line and later retired from Heaven Hill Distillers. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved working in her yard and with her flowers. She was born March 3, 1916 the daughter of the late Alvah G. Hall and Stella L. Seward Hall. Preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Hornback; son, James Randall Hornback; two brothers, Andrew Hall and Lawrence Hall; and four sisters, Pauline Clark, Martha Hall, Betty Cecil and Regina Stewart. She is survived by three sons, Roscoe E. "Gene: Hornback of Versailles, KY, Joseph Ralph Hornback of Lexington, KY, and Phillip Andrew Hornback of Lexington, KY; one daughter, Mary Elaine Humphrey of Louisville; five brothers, Louis Hall of Bardstown, KY, Marvin Hall, David Hall, Raphael Hall and Larry Hall, all of New Haven, KY; two sisters, Theresa Browning of Louisville, and Joyce Greenwell of Bardstown, KY; 14 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mass of Christian burial for Joann Hall Hornback will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at the St. Catherine Catholic Church in New Haven, with burial in Riverview Cemetery in New Haven. Prayer services will be held Monday evening in the Chapel of William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2006 and 9 a.m. until services on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at William R. Rust Funeral Home.
