The eldest son of Burr Burton, who was murdered in his home in 1865. Suspicion fell on Henry, who was sleeping in the home at the time, was in financial hardship and was one of the heirs to the property. Henry attempted to learn the identity of the assassin but was unable to do so and suspicion remained with him to his dying day. He remained friendless and for several months before his death was homeless. Congressman James Belden ordered that he be sent to St. Joseph's Hospital for care with the expenses covered by Belden. He died there of fever.
