Jonathan Lee Grubaugh was born in Ashland County, OH in 1828 to Jonathan H. Grubaugh and Henrietta Wallace. He was the second son and fifth child to be born to this couple. They eventually had 10 children, 5 boys and 5 girls.
Jonathan Lee Grubaugh married Caroline Young on 15 Feb 1850 in Richland County, OH. They had 11 children together. Jonathan Lee died just before Christmas in 1899 in Van Wert County.
Here is his death notice:
Mansfield News, Dec. 23, 1899 Death at Van Wert James W. Grubaugh of 392 West Fourth Street, received a telegram today announcing the death of his brother, Jonathan Grubaugh, at Van Wert. Funeral Monday at Van Wert.
