Henrietta Wallace was born in Virginia in about 1799 to James Wallace and Rachel ??. Her tombstone says that she was 43 years old when she died in January 1843. She married Jonathan H. Grubaugh at a very early age and her first child, Richard Hooker Grubaugh, was born 3 Sep 1815. Richard died in 1897. Henrietta and Jonathan went on to have 9 other children before Henrietta died. The other children were Margaret Grubaugh Lantz (1819-1901), Mary (Polly) Grubaugh McClelland (1822-1894), Rachel Grubaugh Miller (1826-1903), Jonathan Lee Grubaugh (1829-1899), Henrietta Grubaugh Wright (1831-1876), Elzina S. Grubaugh Brinley (1833-1913), James Wallace Grubaugh (1834-1905), Wilson Shannon Grubaugh (1837-1905), Robert Franklin Grubaugh (1842-1916). There are some lengthy time gaps between some of the children, so it's possible there were additonal stillborn children, or children dying at an early age. After Henrietta died, Jonathan married a widow, Catherine Margaret Armentrout Worline, and had one additional child with her - Isaac Grubaugh (1848-1894).
