Hjalmer Alto of Eben Dies In Hospital
Eben--Hjalmer Alto, 84, died in St. Luke's Hospital, Marquette, at 8:30 Monday night after a six months illness.
He was born Feb 24, 1886, in Ikaalinen, Finland, and was a resident of Alger County 68 years. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are three sons, Charles of Deerton, Victor of Marquette and Alex of Eben; five daughters, Mrs. Alex (Lempi) Hillberg and Mrs. Eino (Ethel) Niemi of Marquette, Mrs. Jack (Hiljar?) Robinson, Mrs. Lawrence (Meimi) Rockwood and Mrs. Edward (Kay) Salmela of Detroit; two brothers Victor and Toivo of Finland; twelve grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The body is at the Bowerman-Halifax Funeral Home, Munising, where friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Services will be conducted there at 1:30 Thursday afternoon. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Chatham. Grandsons of Mr. Alto will be pallbearers.
