Ethel Niemi
Mrs. Eino (Ethel) Niemi, 61, of 1738 Presque Isle Ave., died Tuesday evening in Marquette General Hospital North where she had been ill since November.
Born June 13, 1917 in Eben, she had lived in Marquette for 10 years. Before moving to Marquette she had lived in Rumley for 15 years. She was employed by Northern Michigan University and was a member of the Ladies of the Moose.
Surviving are a son, Thomas of Livonia; four sisters, Mrs. Lempi Hillberg of Marquette, Mrs. Hilja Robinson, Mrs. Larry (Meimi) Rockwood, and Mrs. Edward (Katherine) Samela, all of Detroit; three brothers, Charles Alto of Trenary; Victor Aalto of Marquette and Alex Alto of Eben; three nieces, eight nephews and one grandchild.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Swanson Funeral Home with Rev. Rudolph Kemppainen of Negaunee officiating. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery.
Friends may call for 4-9 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home.
