Naomi was the daughter of Rev. Angus D., Sr., and Susan (Locklear) Locklear. She married Duncan Brewer on Jan. 13, 1912 in Pembroke, NC.

The following was taken from the May 24, 1957 edition of THE ROBESONIAN:

Mrs. Naomi Brewer, 69, wife of Duncan Brewer, route 1, Pembroke, died yesterday at Robeson County Memorial hospital, after an extended illness. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at three o'clock at Mt. Airy Baptist church with Rev. T. M. Swett, in charge of rites, assisted by Rev. Ralston Butler. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from one to three o'clock

Survivors in addition to her husband, include: Four sons, Walter, Sanford, and Charles Brewer of Pembroke, James Brewer of Greensboro; five daughters, Mrs. Josh Locklear and Mrs. Telford Locklear, both of Pembroke, Mrs. Glenn Badenhoff and Mrs. Chambers Maynor, both of Greensboro, Mrs. Delilah Sanderson, Fairmont; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Locklear and Mrs. Troy Cummings; two brothers, Murphy and Shelby Locklear; 30 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
