Martin L. Brown Jr., age 84 Newark died yesterday in the Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy Division.
Mr. Brown was born on 10-3-1907, in Wilkes-Barre, PA., the sixth of 14 children of Martin F. Brown, and Bridget "Ann" Moran Brown. Martin was married to the late Mary (nee McGrady) on April 9, 1943 at Sacred Heart Church in Plains, PA.
Martin was an aviation technician for the Bendix Corporation in Teterboro for 35 years before his retirement in 1973.
During the 1940's, he sang on Ted Mack's Amateur Hour Radio program and also entertained the troops during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Martin was born in WIlkes-Barre, Pa., and he settled in Newark in 1938. He was a member of Local 9 of the United Auto Workers Union in Cranford.
Martin L. Brown was the father of and survived by the three sons; Martin A., Philip M. and Ronald J., and also survived by four brothers of Joseph, Leonard, Thomas, Paul and one sister Mrs. Dorothy Glofka, also survived by seven grandchildren.
Funeral from The Spatola Funeral Home, 240 Mt. Prospect Ave., Newark, N.J. Monday 8 a.m. Funeral Mass St. Michael's Church 9 a.m. Visitors Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
