James L. Brown

James L. Brown died in his home in Irvington, N.J.,on Saturday March 23, 1985, at the age 82.

James was born on December 21, 1902 on 362 Stanton Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA. James lived in Newark before moving to Irvington 30 years ago. Beloved husband of Lydia C. (nee Rose), father of Mrs. Edward (Jean) O'Shaugnessy, Mrs. Anna Mae (Nancy) VanHorn, James G., and Jerome Brown and the late Joan Jenkins, also survived by three grandchildren - Kelly Brown, James Brown, and Joann Fogerty and four great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

James married Lydia on June 1, 1933, at Holy Saviour Church 54 Hilliard Street, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He was a custodian for an apartment house in North Newark for 15 years before retiring in 1968. Prior to that, Mr. Brown was a coal miner in Pennsylvania.

A Mass for James L. Brown, will be offered at 9 a.m. tomorrow in St. Leo's Church, Irvington, N.J. The Funeral will be Tuesday March 26 at 8 a.m. in the Funeral Home of James F. Caffrey & Son, 809 Lyons Ave., Irvington, N.J.

Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township, Pa.
