Fred A Mounts Is Taken By Death

Freed of cares of mothering his family of three daughters and one son, and while recuperating at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Marvel Fisher, 1611 South Elena Avenue, Redondo Beach, Fred A . Mounts, beloved Redondo Beach pioneer, died Monday morning. Mr. Mounts was taken to the hospital on March 19 for a diagnosis of his physical condition and on being released came to Redondo Beach to rest and regain his strength at his daughters home. Death resulted from complications.
Coming to Redondo Beach twenty-one years ago in 1914, Mr. Mounts became engaged in the Restaurant business, later served for three years as chief clerk at the local office of the Southern California Edison company, and finally was employed by the Union Tool Company at Torrance for eight years prior to his retirement, when he moved to Ontario, California.
He was born March 29, 1877 in Wilsey, Morris County Kansas. Surviving are his four children, Mrs. Marvel Fisher, and Miss Marguerite Mounts, both of Redondo Beach. C.(Charles) Frederick Mounts of Pamona, and Mrs. (Fleeta)Geraldine McKone, also of Pamona, who was married recently in Redondo Beach.
Mr. Mounts was a veteran member of the Masonic Lodge.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 2:00 at the Ralph Wm. Allen Funeral chapel, with Rev. Owen Umstead officiating. Burial was in the family plot in Inglewood Park Cemetery by the side of his wife. Redondo Masons had charge of the graveside service.
