Mother Dies Her Son Follows Her To The Great Beyond.
Matson G. Mounts goes on Operating Table at Time of Funeral for Mrs. Mounts.
Two Days ago while funeral services for his mother Mrs. W. A. Mounts (Maria) were being held, Matson G Mounts 46 an electrician employed at the Edison company plant and living at 1435 East Anaheim street went on the operating table at a local Sanitarium. Last night the son died at the age of 46 years. The mother resided at 1116 Myrtle avenue.
Mr. Mounts had lived here 14 years. He was a native of Kansas. Besides the widow, Mrs. Clara Mounts, he is survived by his father W. A. Mounts, a brother Fred A. Mounts, of Redondo, another brother M. M. Mounts, of Santa Rosa, three sisters in Kansas, another one Missouri and one in California.
The body is at the Cleveland parlors

Matson George Mounts was born near Council Grove, Kansas. Sept. 11, 1875, where he lived until his 16th year when with his parents he moved to Ash Grove Missouri and later to Turlock CAl., where he was married October 31, 1913 to Miss Clara Davidson moving soon after to Long Beach Cal., where he departed this life, May 19, 1922.
He leaves a wife, two brothers F. A. Mounts, Redondo, M. M. Mounts, Santa Rosa Cal.; Five sisters--Mrs. Joseph Whitaker, Wichita, Kan.; Mrs. Morton Triece, Long Beach, Cal.; Mrs. Walter Baker, Ash Grove MO.; and Mrs. Theodore and Hosea Barkley of Baldwin; also an aged father W. A. Mounts Long Beach, Cal. His mother having preceded him just a few days to the better land. He lived a devoted Christian life from boyhood, having united with the Christian Church in his early life. He spent much time with his Bible; and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. W. Bailey, and internment was made in the Baldwin Cemetery.Matson's wife Clara and Clara's sister Elsie traveled to Baldwin to bury the body, since two of Matson's sisters lived in Baldwin it was decided to bury the body there according to newspaper article.
