MRS. JULIA BARKLEY

Mrs. Julia E, Barkley, aged 82, of route 2, Baldwin, died yesterday at 1:30 p. m. at her home 8 ½ miles northeast of Ottawa. She had been seriously ill most of the past two years. Born Dec. 11, 1873, in Wilsey, Kas., she had lived 55 years on the present farm and all of her life in this area except for a few years in Kansas City, Kas., and one year in California. She was a member of the Christian church in Wilsey. Her husband, Hosea S. Barkley, died in July, 1946. Survivors are three sons, William, of Pomona; and Roy and Fred Barkley, Baldwin; four daughters, Mrs. Mae Hobson, Baldwin; Mrs. Stella Sturdevant, Denver; Mrs. Edna Simpson, Blue Mound; and Mrs. Ermine Hines, Lawrence; 20 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Barkley, Baldwin; and Mrs. Fleeta Triece, San Rafael, Calif. One daughter, Ruth, died in infancy. Funeral services will be held in Ives Chapel church tomorrow at 2 p. m. Rev. Willis Warner will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Baldwin
