Ruby D. Ehrenhart Smyers, 79, of Macomb, formerly of Abingdon, died at 12:40 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, 1992, at Macomb Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Macomb.
Born Dec. 23, 1913, in Abingdon to John and Minnie Dawdy Schisler, she married George Ehrenhart. He preceded her in death. She later married Loren Smyers on Jan. 5, 1946, in Galesburg. He died Nov. 9, 1992. One son, Eugene Ehrenhart, and one brother also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, Terry Ehrenhart of Roseville; one stepson, Loren Leroy Smyers Jr. of Monmouth; two brothers, Clifford Schisler of Abingdon and Harold Schisler of Sun City, Ariz.; one sister, Irene Morris of Berwick; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
She lived in the Abingdon and Berwick areas most of her life. She also lived in Sun City for 11 years.
She worked at the former Gale Products in Galesburg for 30 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of Berwick Baptist Church and Abingdon Christian Church.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Abingdon Cemetery. The Rev. Raymond McLaren will officiate. Visitation will be tonight at Hinchliff- Pearson-West, Abingdon Chapel, until time of services.
Memorials may be made to her church.
