Abingdon - John Schisler, 91, of Abingdon, died Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at the Abingdon Nursing Center.
He was born June 13, 1886 at Astoria. He married Minnie Dawdy, March 29, 1908, in Abingdon.
He is survived by three sons, Claire and Clifford, both of Abingdon, and Harold, Galesburg; two daughters, Mrs. Loren (Ruby) Smyers of Abingdon, and Mrs. Robert (Irene) Morris of Berwick; one brother, Homer of Abingdon; one sister, Mrs. Rollin Voorhees, of Abingdon; 23 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He farmed most of his life in Indian Point Township.
Funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Larson Funeral Home, the Rev. Howard Fawbush, officiating. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight. Memorials may be made to the Christian Church, Abingdon.
