ABINGDON - Harold Warren Schisler, 84, of Sun City, Ariz., formerly of Abingdon, died at 12:07 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at Boswell Hospital, in Sun City, Ariz.
Born Sept. 26, 1919, near Abingdon in Knox County to John and Minnie Dawdy Schisler, he married Maxine Stearns on June 29, 1940, in Chicago. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, H. Edmund (and Lynn) of Columbus, Ind., and Ronald (and Rosemary) of Santee, Calif.; one daughter, Darlene (and Carl) Henderson of Glenburn, Maine; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Irene (and Bob) Morris of Berwick. He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. He was a machinist at the Outboard Marine Corp. in Galesburg for 28 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of First Christian Church in Sun City. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel, where friends may call one hour before services. The Rev. Raymond McLaren will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
