Clarence is the son of Candida Ellard and Seaborn B. Posey, Sr.. He was born March 1896 in Blount County, Alabama and died January 8, 1945 in Biloxi, MS. Occupation at the time of death he was a pipe fitter's helper. He was transported to Bessemer, Alabama for burial and is interred at Genry's Gap. He was a World War I veteran and is thought to have fought in France. He also worked in the coal mines in West Virginia. Clarence married Ruby Carson and divorced about 1932. The obituary for Clarence indicated they had two sons and two daughters.

Ruby was previously married to Clay Andrews and had a son Clifford, born April 22, 1921. After the divorce from Clarence, Ruby Carson Posey later moved to Detroit, MI and married Pinkey Brown. They had a son Leroy. Nothing else is known about Ruby.

BESSEMER, Ala - Funeral services for Clarence Posey, 48, who died at Biloxi, Miss., Monday, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Genery's Gap Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Gilbert officiating. Burial followed with Jacobs directing.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Fradenburg and Miss Clara Belle Posey; two sons, Gilbert Posey, U.S. Navy, and Ernest Posey, Bessemer; four sisters, Mrs. James Atchison [Atkinson], Mrs. Clay Armstrong, Mrs. J.L. Doss and Mrs. James White; four brothers, Dallas, Seabe, Arthur and George Posey.
