She was married two times.
She first married J A Duncan on January 25, 1890 in Jefferson County, Alabama. They had two children, Elizabeth D Duncan and Augustus Duncan.
After her husband died, she married second Seaborn Benjamin Posey Sr. on May 24, 1895 in Blount County, Alabama. They had nine children: Clarence, Seborn, Jr., Dallas, Arthur, Ida, Mattie, Willie, George, and Florence.
========================
Candia Posey also known as Candy, Carry, Carrie, died in Bessemer in June 12916. She was 'well-known' in Bessemer as printed in her obituary, and it is not known what she did to be well-known. Her four daughters Ida, Mattie, Willie and Peggy went to the Baptist Church orphanage upon her death due to their young age. Ida was 12, Mattie was 10, Willie was 7 and Peggy was under 6. The first orphanage they went to in Evergreen, Alabama burned down; they transferred to the Baptist Children's home in Troy, Alabama, It is not know if George also went to the orphanage because he was also under 6 years old. The children were fostered out and at least one child went to live with their half-sister, Alice Doss. Ruby Posey lived with Mattie Armstrong until about 1938.
