The eldest confirmed member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Claremont, Mrs. Claudie Rose Sigmon of East Main Street, Claremont, died on Saturday night at Catawba Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at four o'clock at St. Mark's Church by the pastor, the Rev. Stanley Stiver. Burial will be in the St. Mark's Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 o'clock at Drum Funeral Home in Conover.
The Claremont area native was the daughter of the late George Alphonzo Hoke and Sarah Anne Carpenter Hoke. She was the widow of Jacob Sigmon, who died on September 5, 1944.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Rowe (Twila) Hollar, Mrs. Richard (Lorene) Moser, and Mrs. Fred (Mildred) Lafone, all of Claremont, and Mrs. Allen (Carolyn) Fry of Charlotte; two sons, James Hoke Sigmon of Claremont and Arthur Sigmon of the home; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
