RUSSELL - Walter E. Batt, 61, died May 11, 1986, St. Francis Hospital, Wichita. Born April 14, 1925, Barton County near Hoisington. He had been a resident of Russell since 1969. He married Florence Keil POPP June 14, 1969, Russell. He was a farmer, stockman.

Survivors: wife of home; stepson, Michael Popp, Wichita; step-daughters: Linda Hall, Hays; Connie Ney, Hoisington; brothers: Herman, Robert, Rudolph, Arthur, all Hoisington; sister, Mrs. Jacob (Freda) Dietz, Russell; 3 step-grandchildren.

Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday St. John Lutheran Church, Russell, Rev. Robert Lundgren. Burial at Russell City Cemetery. Pohlmans Mortuary, Russell.
