HERMAN BATT 1910 - 1994
Herman Batt, Russell, died Monday, June 20, [1994] at Russell Regional Hospital. He was 83. He was born on Nov. 26, 1910, in Russell County to George and Sophia (Hettinger) Batt.
He married Esther Elasser on November 6, 1938, at Bender Hill Lutheran Church. The resident of the Milberger and Galatia area most of his life, Mr. Batt worked as a farmer and stockman.
He was preceded in death by; his parents, an infant daughter, Arleta; a brother, Walter Batt; and a sister, Frieda Dietz. He is survived by a son Gary Batt, Hoisington; a daughter, Shirley DeWald, Russell, three brothers, Robert, Rudolph, and Arthur Batt, all of Hoisington, four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
His funeral was on Thursday, June 21, at Pohlman's Mortuary with Rev. Carl Dieta presiding. Memorial may be sent to Russell Regional Hospital, Russell, in care of the mortuary. (Russell Record, Russell, KS, June 23, 1994)
