Rudolph Batt, 84, died Sunday Jan. 28, 2001, at Wheatland Nursing Center. He was born Sept 13, 1916, in Barton County, to George and Sophia (Hettinger) Batt.
He never married. He lived all his life on the family farm south of Russell, was an active farmer and stockman. He was a WW II U.S. Army veteran.
There are no surviving relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Herman, Robert, Walter, and Arthur Batt; one sister Frieda Dietz.
Funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 30, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Russell City Cemetery, with Rev. Henry Hartman officiating. Burial is at Russell City Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, and from 9 a.m.. to noon, Tuesday, Jan 30, at Pohlman's Mortuary.
