At her home near Beaver, Pike County OH, Friday morning Sept. 9, 1910, the final summons came to Mrs. Barbara Kuntz (nee Hines), after a painful illness of several months duration. She had passed the 68th milestone of life's journey, having been a life-long resident of the community, and having pleasant characters of disposition which serve to make lives brighter. Her demise, though not unexpected, came as a distinct blow and a cloud of sorrow hovers over all. But now she has gone to the Home of the Blest. And why should our hearts be so sad? She has gone to that clime where the weary doth rest. And the mourner looks up and is glad. She was the widow of the late Frederick Kuntz, the mother of seven sons, all reared to manhood. The family circle was first broken by the death of the husband in 1903. One son, Charles also preceded her. Those left to mourn her, whose presence still made a home the dearest spot on earth are Adam of Circleville, Christopher and George of Chillicothe, John of Springfield and Jacob and William at home. Four grandchildren also two brothers and four sisters, C. W. and Martin Hines of So Charleston, Oh, Mrs. James (Catherine) Hoover of Glade, Mrs. William (Mary) Nicodemus of Pike Co, Mrs. Lewis (Christina) Eckhart of East Twelfth Street Portsmouth Oh. Since fifteen years of age she had been a faithful member of the German Reformed Church in Beaver. Her funeral was conducted there on Sunday at 10 am by her pastor, Rev. Houser, after which she was followed by a concourse of sorrowing friends to her last resting place in Beaver Cemetery.

One by one, the leaves are falling,
Fading, falling day by day,
And in silence Heaven is calling,
One by one, loved ones away.
