DECATUR - George Samuel Batorson, 93, of Decatur, died Monday, January 23, 2012 in St. Mary's Hospital. Mr. Batorson was born March 12, 1918, in Plano, IL, son of Steven and Julia (Soba) Batorson. A WWII Army Veteran and member of Christ United Methodist Church, George worked as a grounds keeper for Staley's for 32 years retiring in 1982. He married Agnes Elaine Coling March 15, 1942 in St. Charles, IL. Surviving are his wife of nearly 70 years, Elaine of De-catur; daughter, Julie (Doug) Pope of Decatur; son, Dennis Batorson of Decatur; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Devick of Yorkville; along with several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Mr. Batorson was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rita; and seven brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 9 am until the time of the service at 10 a.m. in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery concluding with the "Flight Home" Ceremony. Memorials: Christ United Methodist Church. The family of George S.
