Mr. Louis Batorson, 89, of Sandwich, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2005 at Provena Mercy Center, Aurora. He was born on July 11, 1915 in Plano, IL, the son of the late Stephen and Julia (Szabo) Batorson. Mr. Batorson was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was retried from M. Werner & Sons. He was married on February 14, 1942, to the former Helen Gabriel. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Sandwich Lions Club. Louie's hobbies were woodworking, gardening, bowling and watching the Chicago Cubs.
    Survivors include his wife, Helen Batorson; one daughter, Pamela (Ron) Wigton of Sandwich and one son, Steven (Kimberly) Batorson of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren, Tracy Matheson and Robert Batorson of Idaho, Kenneth (Wendy) Wigton of Kentucky and Jeff (Aimee) Wigton of Plainfield. Louis also has three great grandchildren with another due in February. He is also survived by a brother, George (Elaine) of Decatur; two sisters, Elorne Biertz of Aurora and Margaret (Russell) Devick of Yorkville and many nieces and nephews.
    Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Steve, Joseph and Alex; two sisters, Elizabeth and Ann; his son, Larry and grandson, Timothy.
    Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at 10 a.m. from St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sandwich with Father Jack Heraty officiating. Burial will be at the St. Patrick's Cemetery in Bristol. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 4, from 5-8 p.m. at the Beverage Family Funeral Home in Sandwich. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul's Building Fund, 110 N. Eddy Street, Sandwich, IL 60548.
