Carlos Wood Smith (1935-2015)
Carlos Wood Smith, 80, passed away on December 3 at Cottonwood Place Senior Living in Holladay. Carlos was born April 11, 1935 in Cardston, Alberta Canada to Thomas Archie and Myrtle Wood Smith, the fifth of seven children. He served a LDS mission to South Africa and graduated from BYU. He married Linda Karen Merrill on June 16, 1962 and they were blessed with five children. After Linda passed away due to cancer, Carlos married Audrey Elaine Wilde on August 6, 1983 and moved his family to Provo.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Olsen and his four children and their families: Kenneth Lee (Valree), Merrill Cameron (Julie), Kim Rodriguez(Cesar) and Heidi Moyes(Stephen). He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers (Bryan Thomas, LaMont Wood, Dale Wood and Archie Wood), sister (Shirley), Linda and Audrey, and son, Allen Carl.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 19 at 11 am at the Pleasant View Chapel, 650 E Stadium Ave, Provo. Viewings will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday, December 18, at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 E 800 N, Orem, and prior to services on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 am. He will be missed.
