Shirley Smith Pugmire died March 5, 2004 after a long and courageous battle with
cancer.

Shirley was born June 29, 1931, in Cardston, Alberta, Canada to Thomas Archie
and Myrtle Wood Smith. She attended the public schools in Hillspring, Alberta,
Canada. She also attended Brigham Young University and Salt Lake City LDS
Business College. Employment included duties as a secretary in the Stringham Law
Firm in Cardston and as a secretary in the LDS Salt Lake Temple.

Shirley served an LDS Mission in Sweden (1955-57). On April 20, 1973 she and
Daryl R. Pugmire were married in the Salt Lake Temple. Throughout her life, Shirley has been a faithful member and worker in the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her generosity, dependability,
courage, and cheerfulness have endeared her to her family and friends who will
miss her greatly.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Daryl; children, Staci Pugmire, Salt Lake
City, Scott (Carol) Pugmire, Sandy; daughter-in-law, Brigitte Morley (Robert),
Midvale; sister, Nan Olsen, Cardston, Alberta, Canada; brothers, Lamont (Nola)
Smith, Spanish Fork, Carlos (Audrey) Smith, Provo; six grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by
parents; son, Steven; and brother, Bryan.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at 11 a.m. in the
Midvale 5th Ward 8171 So. Jackson St. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So.
State Tuesday 6-8 p.m. or Wednesday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.

The family would like to thank Life Path Hospice and Family Care of Salt Lake City for their attentive and loving care.
