Our loving husband, father, brother and friend passed away August 18, 2010.

LaMont was born in Hill Spring, Alberta, Canada on September 18, 1928 to Archie and Myrtle Smith. In 1953 he was married in the Cardston Temple to his loving wife, Nola Fisher.

He was a professor at BYU and loved his many students. LaMont was a true cowboy and loved working on the farm with his horses. He served in many callings in the LDS church.

His true love was his wife of 57 years and his family.

He was preceeeded in death by his parents, brothers; Dale and Bryan and sister; Shirley. LaMont is survived by his wife, Nola and their seven children; Stan & Kerry, Duane, Sheila & Richard Cope, Ginny & Kevin Adams, Phil & Shani, Matt & Alysa and Julie, his sister Nan Olsen, brother Carlos and 27 grandchildren whom he loved and who loved him dearly; Leslie, Lisa (Nathan), David (Jamie), Tamara, Eric, Nick (Gina), Tyler, Josh, Ryan, Staci, Jeremy (Tasha), Spencer, Steven, Katie, Amy, Scott, Mellaina, Rachel, Jeff, Kamree (Stefen), Tanner, Savannah, Easton, Dallin, Alexis, Ethan, Sarah and four great grandchildren

Funeral services for LaMont will be held Monday, August 23, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Cedar Hills 10th LDS Ward Chapel located at 9737 North Chesterfield Drive, Cedar Hills, Utah. Family and friends may call on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to services at the church. Burial will be at the American Fork City Cemetery.
