BRYAN THOMAS SMITH passed away Friday, December 20, 1996, at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital. He was 70 years old.
He was predeceased by his first wife;. Hazel LaJune Hansen (September 1984) and one son, Reed Orene Smith (September 1962).
He Is survived by his wife, Joyce Thomas Smith and children: Valerie (Robert) Olsen;
Craig (Mary Ellen) Smith; Joy (Merrill) Steed; Gary (Carolyn) Smith; Randall Smith and by step-children Scott /(Ann) Sweeney; Stephanie (Randy) Wilkey; Becky Southam; Michelle (Tarre) Egbert; Melissa (David) Pritt as well as 16 grandchildren and 19
step-grandchildren. He Is also survived by four siblings: Mary Ann Olsen; LaMont W. Smith; Shirley Pugmlre; and Carlos W. Smith.
Bryan was born April 6, 1926 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada the eldest son of Archie and Myrtle Wood Smith. He served an L.D.S. Mission from 1946 to 1949 In the Samoan Islands. In 1951 he married LaJune Hansen of Jefferson, Alberta. They made their home In Hill Spring, where he made his livelihood ranching and farming. He was deeply involved and greatly respected In both church and civic affairs. After the death of his first wife he married Joyce Thomas of Glenwood in 1985.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Hill Spring, on Friday, December 27th, 1996 at 2:00 P.M. with Bishop Thane Olsen officiating. Friends may meet the family at the Church from 12:30 to 1:45 P.M. prior to the Service. Interment In the Hill Spring Cemetery, Hill Spring, Alberta.
