Mrs. Anton Bangen

Death came to relieve Mrs. Anton Bangen of her suffering last Wednesday, July 10, at her home in Minot. Mrs. Bangen had suffered with cancer for the past several months, but during that time, like the years of her life before, she never complained, but was always looking forward to the days as they came. Funeral services were held in the Zion Lutheran church in Minot at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, July 13, Rev. L. M. Gundmestad conducting and her remains were taken to Climax, Minn., for burial.

Sarah, daughter of Hans and Severina Berg, was born at Climax, Minn. She was confirmed Nov. 9, 1906, at Sand Hill church at Climax, Minn. She was married to Anton Bangen at Crookston, Minn., Dec. 27, 1913 and in 1916 she came with him and their children to Big Bend township where they lived till last year when they moved to Minot. To this union and left, with their father, to mourn the loss of a wonderful wife and mother were the seven children: Three daughters: Mrs. M. J. Larson of Graham, Wash., Mrs. Arnold Wollan of Minot, who has been with her mother during her illness, and Miss Thelma Bangen who has just completed her nurses training; four sons, Howard and Arvid, of Sanish, Reuben and Leland, at home. The daughters were all with their mother in the last days of her illness. Four sisters and one brother survive: Mrs. Einar Thune, Mrs. Knute Stortroen, Mrs. Arthur Thompson and Mrs. Helmar Bangen all of Climax, Minn. There are six grandchildren.
Music was furnished by the Heddeland sisters, by Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Larson and C. A. Pickering. Pallbearers were neighbors who had known her for these many years and chosen by herself.

Mrs. Bangen was one of the finest women we have ever known and everyone who knew her loved her for her womanly character. Always ready to help a friend, she raised a wonderful family and the place in the community will never be filled.

At the funeral services for Mrs. Anton Bangen the following were present from Climax, Minn.: Mrs. H. O. Estenson, Mrs. Housie and August Aas, cousin of Anton, and Theo Bangen, who is 82 years of age; Mrs. and Mrs. Helmer Bangen, Mr. and Mrs. Einar Thune, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Berg and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thompson. Also Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Berg, nephew and niece of Anton Bangen.

The floral offerings were beautiful and many memorials were given in memory of this wonderful woman.
