Mrs. Karine Thune, 89 years old, of Grafton, formerly of Climax, MN passed away on Tuesday, September 6 at the Unity Hospital in Grafton. She was born November 5, 1887 at Climax, MN the daughter of the late Hans Berg and Severine Hanstad. She received her education in rural climax schools. She married Einar Thune on December 28, 1915 at Climax. He preceded her in death in 1951. They lived and farmed in the Climax area, moving to Grafton about 10 years ago. She has resided at the St. Angsars Hospital in Park River for one year and the Lutheran Sunset Home in Grafton the last 2-1/2 years. She was a member of the Sand Hill Lutheran Church, rural Climax, MN and life member of the ALCW.

She is survived by one daughter Mrs. Elmo (Anna) Uggerud of Grafton, one sister: Mrs. Helmer (Hannah) Bangen of Climax, three nephews Alton and Norman Thune of Climax, MN and Telbert Thune of Sylman, Cal., four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and four sisters.

Funeral services for Karine Thune will be held on Saturday, September 10 at 2:00 p.m. from the Sand Hill Lutheran Church, rural Climax with Rev. Russell Peterson and Rev. Weltzin officiating. Burial will be in the Sand Hill Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Tollefson Funeral Home in Grafton on Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. and at the church in Climax for an hour before the time of the service on Saturday. A family service will be held on Friday evening at 7:30 at the Funeral Home, the Tollefson funeral home of Grafton is in charge of all arrangements.
