Reuben Bangen was born June 16, 1923 to Anton and Sara Bangen in Sanish, ND. He attended grade school in Big Bend Township and graduated from Sanish High School in 1942. He joined the Army and served in the Air Force in Europe during World War II.

He married Eunice Haddeland in 1946 and ran an equipment store in Parshall, then moved to San Jose, CA, and worked for United Airlines until retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Eunice, and five daughters: Debbie, Barbara, Marcia, Arlene and Terri. Three sisters: Mrs. M. J. Larson, Brush Prairie, WA, Mrs. Ruth Richardson and Thelma Collins, Vancouver, WA. One brother, Arvid Bangen, New Town, ND. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leland and Howard.
