A Spearville-area resident for more than 50 years, she was a homemaker. She belonged to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Altar Society, both at Spearville.
On Aug. 12, 1941, she married William "Bill" G. Burkhart at Offerle. He survives.
Other survivors include: seven sons, Donald, Goddard, Gary Lee, Jetmore, Allen, Wright, Norman, Langdon, Thomas, Cimarron, and Mark and Roger, both of Spearville; four daughters, Patricia Jane Grasser, Garden City, Elaine Gerber, Garden Plain, Connie Lou Burgardt, Pratt, and Mary Linda Strecker, Spearville; a brother, Eddie Hertel, Dodge City; three sisters, Regina Dome and Agnes Beckerdite, both of Dodge City, and Mary Ann Dinkel, Victoria; 34 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ed, Alfred, Wilferd and Joe.
Rosary will be at 4 p.m. Sunday and the vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, both at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Spearville. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with Father Robert A. Schremmer presiding. Friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Burkhart Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Spearville.
Memorials may be sent to the church or to the Spearville EMS, both in care of the funeral chapel.
