Theda Raye Jefferson, 60, of Eagletown, died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital, Albuquerque, N.M. She was born Dec. 27, 1931, in Eagletown and lived most of her life there.
She was a member of the Oka Achukama Presbyterian Church, Broken Bow, and an Elder of the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. Jefferson was a graduate of Eagletown High School and Cook Christian Training School, Tempe, Ariz.
She was involved with children and youth ministries, the Presbyterian women's group and served as an associate pastor of the Apache Reformed Church. She was a loicensed practical nurse.
She was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Tonihka; by her brother, Michael Hudson; and by her half-brother, Wilson Tonihka.
Survivors include her husband, Ellis Jefferson; her mother, Edna Sampson; two sons, Buddy Monahan, Albuquerque, N.M., Eagletown; two foster daughters, Jody and Nettie King, Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Gene Wilson and Wesley Hudson Jr., both of Eagletown; a sister, Orilla Craig, Apache; three half sisters, Ahdohlowah Tonihka, Bstsy McCoy, and Pheosdosia Perry, a half brother, John Tonihka; four grandchildren; and an aunt and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mountain Fork (Nanih Lumbo) Presbyterian Church, Eagletown, with the Rev. Ronald K. McKinney officiating.
